Hi, My name is
Naoufel.

After a difficult stretch that left him searching for solid ground, Naoufel walked through the doors of Philly House. Today, he stands on that ground. And he's already thinking about how to help others get there too.

A Place to Breathe

For 148 years, Philly House has opened its doors to men who have nowhere else to turn. A bed and a meal are waiting. So is something else harder to find: a place where they can breathe again.

Noufel knew that feeling the moment he walked in.

"When I arrived, I felt a mix of nervousness and relief," he says. "I was a bit anxious because it was a new experience, but I quickly felt comfortable thanks to the warm welcome and support I received."

Noufel came looking for something specific. "What motivated me to come to Philly House was my need for safety and stability after a difficult period in my life," he explains. "I was looking for a place where I could feel secure and start rebuilding my life."

What he found went further than four walls and a roof.

Being surrounded by people who genuinely care gave me motivation to move forward and think positively about my future.

"What helped me the most was the sense of safety and support," he says. "Being surrounded by people who genuinely care gave me motivation to move forward and think positively about my future."

That care showed up in the ordinary details of daily life: structure, accountability and the steady rhythm of days that have a purpose. "Philly House helped me stabilize my situation, organize my daily life and focus on my goals and personal growth," Naoufel says.

Today, the ground beneath Naoufel holds. He is working toward employment, building new skills and beginning to imagine a life shaped on his own terms. And one day, he hopes to pay it forward. "I hope to become someone who can help others in the future."

Naoufel is grateful for supporters like you who helped make this possible. "Because of your help, I've been able to stand on my feet again. Your support truly makes a difference in people's lives, including mine."
